As far as the salon appointment itself (pricing starts at $420), plan for about three hours, as the process involves several steps.
First, you get shampooed with a clarifying formula to thoroughly remove any buildup that might be lingering on your scalp or strands.
Then, the natural keratin solution gets applied by brush onto dry hair.
Next, your hair gets put into a cap and you sit for about 30 minutes.
To activate the keratin, your stylist will blow-dry your hair with a round brush.
Finally, the hair is flat ironed.
Aftercare requires you to use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner combo.
Your hair should not get the hair wet for a minimum of 72 hours. If the hair gets wet, blow-dry and lightly go over your hair with a flat iron on low heat.
